Baa-Baa, Pink Sheep.

As I'm sure you must know, New Zealand is a country known for it's sheep... white sheep that is... not pink! So as you could imagine, I was more than amused when during a road trip through Warkworth New Zealand I spotted a hill full of bright PINK sheep!

Being a vegetarian myself, I love animals (alive, not dead) so I couldn't help but ask Cam to pull over and let me take a few photos so I could show my friends and family back home. I'm still not sure if they were painted this color because they were due to see the butcher (God, I hope not!) or purely for the entertainment of passer-by's like myself...personally, I feel a bit sorry for them- I mean- what if they wanted to be white? Apparently the web-definition for pink sheep is "One who has disgraced his or her family by betraying their working-class roots by maintaining a yuppie and often metropolitan or metrosexual lifestyle" (or in simpler terms...Gay) Huh. Whatever the reason, I thought you might enjoy my snap-shots.

That is really bizarre! And cruel, as maybe they don't realise they are being laughed at. :( I think the last photo is particularly bizarre!!! What were the farmers up to?? :/

the reason the sheep are pink is for charity PINK stands for breast cancer in australia and new zealand and we have even had our cricketers and footballers wear pink to raise money for the Jane Mc Grath foundation....
