With Love, to the most Amazing Woman I know...

A Tribute to my Beautiful Mother
Happy Mothers Day Mama!

When I was a young girl I remember my mother being the most dedicated and selfless person I know. Often times she would wake up before the sun to make sure the fire had been started so the house was warm by the time me and my five sisters woke... she would wake us by playing celctic music, and I can remember watching her dancing around the living room gracefully and with such passion it seemed as if her feet would be lifted off the ground and she would be whisked away into the heavens!

She was the model mother. Still to this day I'm unsure how she was able to keep our 6 bedroom, pre-1900's plantation home tidy, cook beautiful gourmet vegetarian meals for our family of 8, look after her six daughters who would often times be wandering off into the cotton-fields and woods of our 350+ acre farm, she would work till the wee hours of the morning illustrating a children's toy catalog in order to help support our family, as well as hosting visitors who sometimes stayed for months on end with our family! Of all of these things, what stands out most to me is her incredible stead-fast faith and love for God. She taught all of her children that these two things were the most important things we could have in this life... there was nothing we could ever do that would cause her not to love us, and no matter how far from my faith and beliefs I may have wandered she was always there with her prayers and words of encouragement. This is the most incredible gift she could ever give, and one that she has continued giving throughout her life.
For this, I am most thankful.
I only hope that one day I can be such a strong, dedicated, selfless, and loving mother as she has been to us.

"Thank you Mama for your constant encouragement and support throughout my life, and for your never ending Love and Dedication to your family. You have been such a strength through such hard times, and have stood strong in your faith through it all.
Many blessings to you on this Mother's day, and every day..."

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17)
